So You Want to be a Children's Author? In-Person
Maybe you have a story (or an idea for a story) you think would make a good children’s book. Great! In this workshop, published author Laurie Wallmark will teach you the ins and outs of writing children’s books to increase your chances of getting published. We will discuss: the types of children’s books, the publishing industry, how to write a successful query letter; steps to getting an agent and do you need one; should you publish traditionally or self-publish; how to avoid scams; tools for researching the market; literary contracts and much more. There will be plenty of time for questions.
