The Heroine Club In-Person
This interactive fantasy book club for grades 4-7 aims to empower tween girls through reading fantasy books featuring strong female heroines. The group will meet on the third Thursday of every month. Members will receive a list of suggested titles to choose from. Half of the meeting time will be spent discussing themes, characters, and plot points, while the other half will focus on making a craft related to the story.
This book club provides a safe space for girls to explore the fantasy genre, which is often geared toward boys. The broader goal is to help girls build confidence and strength by identifying with female heroines. While the group is centered around female heroines, participants of all genders are welcome.
