Seniors Improv Series (#1 of 3) In-Person

Improv is all about play time for adults in a relaxed, non-judgemental group aimed at having fun. It is not stand-up in front of an audience, so there's no stage fright. And because there's no judgement, you can't say or do anything stupid or embarrassing. No experience is necessary. The main benefits of improv include building mental acuity (thinking on your feet), collaboration (as you develop skits with others), team-building, greater confidence in public and private speaking, improved attentiveness (by honing listening skills), a chance to connect with others, healing traumas and neurological disorders in a safe, secure atmosphere, and laugh therapy (which is the best type of therapy).

Gabe is a local resident who has been doing improv for 8 years as a member of a troupe based in Westfield. He brought improv to Hunterdon County through volunteering, leading programs for seniors (at JFS in Somerville) and for teens (at Clinton Public Library). Gabe also worked as a volunteer for several years at Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, after a distinguished career in business.

Please be sure to also register for June 26 and July 3 for the 3-part series.
