The Truth About Arthritis ~ NJ State Library Webinar
As we age, our bodies change and parts start to deteriorate, causing a variety of health problems that can impact our quality of life. In fact, 1 in 5 adults will develop arthritis, which is the leading cause of work disability of adults in the United States. In honor of National Arthritis Awareness Month, please join us as Dr. Sehris Khawaja, Rheumatologist at Capital Health, discusses the causes and treatments for arthritis.
Dr. Khawaja is a fellowship trained rheumatologist who diagnoses and treats diseases and systemic autoimmune conditions that affect the joints, muscles, blood vessels, and bones. She completed her undergraduate training with honors from Temple University. After receiving her medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr Khawaja completed her internal medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She later completed her rheumatology fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She also provided care for patients at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center during her training.
