"Drive to Sing" Documentary & a Hunterdon Harmonizers Concert! In-Person
Did you know that barbershop choruses right here in Central Jersey taught groups around the world how to create drive-in choir rehearsals and concerts? When COVID suddenly made it unsafe to sing indoors, Somerset Hills Harmony and Hunterdon Harmonizers used microphones and FM radio to enable safe singing in parking lots, and helped groups as far as Arizona and Alaska to do the same. Their work is part of a new award-winning documentary about choirs during the pandemic and the importance of making music together. Featuring choruses in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Alberta, this inspirational film has been accepted into 12 film festivals and won Best Indie Feature at Oniros Film Awards in New York. The HUNTERDON HARNONIZERS will perform a 30-minute concert at 6:30, followed by the 75-minute film at 7pm, ending with Q&A.
